The all-new Kia Rio has extended its range, adding three and four door options to the Australian line-up.
The additional variants has also confirmed Kia as one of the leading car manufacturers in Australia, becoming only the second marque in the country to have a car with all three body shapes in the light passenger vehicle category.
"Rio has always been a commercial success and with this new incarnation now available in three body shapes new Rio will appeal to a much wider demographic than before," Kia Australia president and chief executive officer Chongwoo Kim said yesterday (February 8).
"Rio is a car that people will want to buy for its new looks, its new premium feeling, generous features and environmental credentials."
The three and four door Kia Rio models will be available in two engine options - 1.4 or 1.6 litres - and fuel consumption is listed at 5.7 litres per 100 kilometres in manual transmission.
The news of the addition to the Kia Rio family comes after the recent announcement of impressive sales figures for the marque.
Kia reported a strong start to the year, recording 2,276 new car sales for the month of January.
According to the latest VFACTS figures, this places Kia among the top ten car manufacturers in the country, claiming a three per cent share of the new car market.
